Laura Ann Celebrates

Bushels of Apples… Apple Cookies!

September 24, 2013

Fall Is Finally Here!

At least on the calender, yesterday marked the first official day of Fall.

Unfortunately, our temperatures are still in the 90’s with no change in sight.

We used to live up North and I so miss the crisp Fall air and the changing colors of the leaves.

(I am sure in the winter I will have a greater appreciation of our beautiful location.)

I decided that since I can’t get up North and go apple picking this week, I would do the next best thing…bake some apple cookies.

As my grandmother would say, “How do ya like them apples?”

These were very fun to do and they really did help to get me into the Fall spirit.

I just cut a simple apple shape into my sugar cookie dough and voila it was time to decorate.

I kept the decorating simple, because I knew I wanted to display them together in a bushel basket.

As we all know, when picking apples you need bushels full.

Once the icing dried it was time to load the baskets and create my own little Fall orchard scene.

I think this was the perfect first day of Fall!

I hope all of you had a great day too!
