Laura Ann Celebrates

Dick Vitale Cookie!

October 1, 2013

A Huge Thank you!

Sometimes to say thank you to someone, I like to give them something sweet.

I really wanted to thank Mr. Vitale for his kindness and generosity and so I did what I know how to do. (I made him cookies)

What’s better than one Dickie V? How about two?

There are many things you can say about the larger than life, Dick Vitale. He is energetic, enthusiastic, talented, generous and one of the most genuine people we have ever met.

Every year, he raises amazing amounts of money for charity through  The V Foundation for Cancer Research, Dick Vitale Gala.

Last year my husband and son were honored to attend and were truly touched by all the heartfelt speeches and brave individuals that benefit from this worthy cause.

If you want to find out more about the V Foundation you can go to their website at www.jimmyv.org.

When he is not doing what he can to stamp out cancer, Dick Vitale can be found on ESPN calling the collegiate basketball games.

As the parents of two Duke students, we enjoy any opportunity to visit the campus and of course catch a game.

My husband had the good fortune to fly with Dick and some of his family to Duke University last year, to watch a basketball game and see Mr. Vitale do what he does best!

I watched from home and I would have to say, I thought it was one of the best games he has ever called.

My oldest son and his friends really had a great time and I think everyone would agree,

“You’re Awesome Baby”
