FLIP FLOP HAWAIIAN STYLE!

What could be more fun than a little Hawaiian style flip flop cookie?

Want to know how to make these little cuties?

No flip flop cookie cutter on hand? No problem…

Remember, you can use all kind of shapes to create all kinds of cookies.

These could be made with a snowman cutter turned upside down, or an oval pinched in on the sides, or an egg shape.

Just look at the cutters you do have and use that imagination of yours.

I promise you will surprise yourself!

Again, I just started with a plain sugar cookie cut out.

Then chose my colors and outlined and flooded the cookie.

I will post a video if you are new to the game of cookie decorating and don’t know how to do this technique.

Once the flip flops have a little color, the real fun begins.

We can now add the personality to the cookie.

For these particular cookies, I choose to add some Hawaiian hibiscus flower designs in contrasting colors.

It is a very simple technique that anybody can master.

Just take your contrasting color and make some small circles into the wet icing.

This technique is called, wet on wet and I will be posting a video on this as well.

So easy to do, yet looks quite impressive.

Now we have our circles, but not impressive yet you say?

I would agree with you.

Be prepared to be amazed.

Simply with the use of our very high tech tool… (the toothpick) we will transform these circles into the awesome hibiscus flower.

READY?

That’s right, you just take the tip of the toothpick and starting from the outside of the circle, drag the pick to the center of the circle.

Next do the same thing four times around the circle and PRESTO… you made a hibiscus flower.

Now to turn it into a flip flop, you need to let these dry a little then come back and add the top piece.

As you can see on the pink shoe, I added a short line straight down and then a curved line to complete the sandal piece.

So simple, Right?

For the final fun touch, place a candy flower to the top just as a real flip flop might have.

It’s great, you can design your own shoes and make them any colors you want.

These FUN FLIP FLOPS would brighten any dessert table!

Nobody will complain about how many of these shoes you have!
