Frankenstein Never Looked So Good

To celebrate Halloween and Frankenstein’s own special day, we made these easy and oh so fun, marshmallow pops.

Gather a few materials and you are on your way to making your  own monster pops.

Marshmallows, of course. If you can’t find the square ones the large round ones will work.

A pair of scissors (yours don’t have to me yellow) to cut the candy eyes.

This of course means that you will be needing candy eyes.

Lollipop sticks and a colorful straw to cover the lollipop stick (the straw is optional).

And decorator icing bags with just the tip snipped off or use a #2 tip, like we did.

If you don’t have that on hand, a Ziplock bag will  work.

It all started with square marshmallows that we found at Target.

Simply take a lollipop stick and insert it into the bottom of the marshmallow.

(you can figure out which is the bottom)

Here comes the fun part.

Mix up some royal icing and colors some green and some black.

Fill your decorator’s icing bag with your icing and step into the laboratory to build your monster.

Starting with the green, we outlined the face.

Then added black for the hair.

Now, he needs some eyeballs.

Using a pair of sharp scissors, we carefully cut a slice off the eye to give it a fun angle.

Now use the black icing to draw on the details and make your monster come to life!
