I started out with good intentions several months ago to begin this blog, as a way to share some fun and yummy treats with friends and family. It was a great thought, but as fall turned to winter and Santa came and went, I realized that I was not as adept with a computer as I thought I was. Good thing nobody was actually waiting to eat the food.

So upon enlisting the help of my much more intelligent sons we have finally arrived at the day. The start of what I hope will be a fun way to celebrate all of life’s Sweet Moments. As my boys are growing up and leaving the nest, I will continue to celebrate those moments with them, even if it is through the use of the internet. So, to my oldest son, who will not be home for Easter, this first of what I hope will be many blogs is for you. Thank you for setting it up for me and continuing to ask how it is going on a regular basis.

Nobody will be more surprised to see this up and running for the first time.

I absolutely love the holidays and putting together dessert tables that make everyone happy. Easter is so much fun, because it really lends itself to the the bright, cheerful colors and fun characters. One of my favorite characters is the peep. The fact that it comes in a rainbow of colors and was in every single basket I received as a child, makes one of the necessities of the holiday. On this table, the peeps are sporting their traditional yellow attire and swimming down a pink, sugar river. 

I am not a gardener and I do not have the best of luck with living plants, however even I was able to grow this Rock Candy Blossom.

Pinwheels always make me think of Spring, so they seemed the perfect choice to sit atop these chocolate cupcakes.

On top of the cake stand is not a cake at all, but rather a little cotton tail with his beautiful orange carrot. These cookies are big and bright and very easy to make, so if you still need a little something for your table tomorrow you could get these done in no time. A simple sugar cookie with royal icing and colored sanding sugar. Don’t forget the candy eye and non-perils for the cotton tail. With a little more work the lambs are so adorable, but almost too cute to eat. (Almost!)

Nothing can go wrong when you bake and create with your imagination. So play with your food and make some fun for family and  friends.
