Luau Palm Tree Cookie
Just a quick post to show you the palm tree I made to round out the luau cookie collection.
I also threw in the large hibiscus flower cookies, which I made from a sand dollar cookie cutter.
(However in my rush to finish the cookies, I didn’t photograph the the steps for the hibiscus flowers)
Sorry about that, but I think everybody is ready to move on to the next project.
These palm trees were super easy.
I simply mixed the green and brown color icings then filled in with those colors.
It is important to let these dry a little before adding the detail lines.
Once they have dried enough, outline the trunk then add the cross lines, as well as the leaves.
Once I added the detail lines there was only one thing missing…The coconuts!
One of my favorite things to do on my cookies is to use candies to help add detail and dimension.
The candy I chose to use was the brown Sixlet. I thought they made the perfect coconuts.
I hope you think so too.
I think these easy palm trees added the perfect backdrop for the Luau box of cookies!
I hope you have enjoyed!
Don’t forget to take advantage of everyday and find a reason to CELEBRATE!
