Apple Pie Dip for The 4th
Instead of serving the traditional apple pie, think of changing it up a bit.
Making an apple pie filling to dip into and serving with pie crust stars is a fun way to eat apple pie.
I made the apple mixture by cutting up Granny Smith apples and cooking in a pot with apple juice, sugar and ground cinnamon.
Cook it down till it looks like a beautiful golden brown color.
To make easy pie crust stars you can use a refrigerator pie crust or make your own.
Once you roll it out just use a star shaped cookie cutter to cut the dough and place on a cookie sheet.
Then lightly brush with melted butter and sprinkle on some colored sugar.
Now just bake at 350 degrees for about 5-7 min.
Set several of these trays our around your party and let people help themselves.
Dip in and enjoy!
