Peep Easter Cookies
Easter’s on the way and it is time to Peep things up.
Last week we had the Peep giveaway with lots of fun Peep merchandise.
Congratulations to the winner and I hope you have a Hoppy Easter.
One of my favorite things in the giveaway was the Wilton Peep cookie cutters.
With their cutters it is very simple to create the Perfect Peep cookie.
With these adorable cutters you can make magic happen.
As always we started with our sugar cookie and cut out some of these cuties.
Once they are baked, it’s time for the fun.
Peeeps come in all kinds of colors and are so simple to create as a cookie.
So gather your sanding sugars and get busy.
There is very little detail when icing these cookies, so the come together very quickly.
Good thing because there isn’t much time till Easter.
So, outline the cookie
Then flood the cookie with icing.
Then your Peep needs some personality, so add candy pearls, or mini chocolate chips for their eyes and nose.
Once you have these little guys looking like this, then they are ready for their sugar shower.
Now all that’s left is to hold them over a container or paper plate and pour colored sugar over them.
Presto… you have yourself the perfect Peep.
Now make some friends and have a Peep party.
The chick cookie shape is also fun to make.
For these cute critters, outline and flood the icing the same way, but starting only with the top portion.
Add the chocolate chip for the eye and shower with sugar.
Once you have the yellow sugar applied you can outline and flood the lower half for the nest.
While the icing is wet, pour colored sprinkles over it and then let it dry.
Put them all together and you have a display nobody will be able to resist.
